April Temecula events are here with the promise of blossoming flowers and the hustle and bustle of people looking forward to the magic that the spring season has to offer. With all the Spring magic and fun events going on in Temecula I have put together a monthly newsletter to remind you of what's coming up in and around the town throughout the year.

Old Town Events

Here, the US Overland Mail 150th Anniversary of the San Antonio-San Diego Mail Route is the topic of honor.

However, I feel the real treat comes when you're allowed to make your own postcards and mail them on opening day at 2pm. Call 951-694-6450 for more details.

Additional April Temecula events to enjoy include:

• 3/28, 3/29, 3/30, 4/5, 4/6: Godspell (8pm and 2pm performances): Settle into one of the largest performances on both an off-Broadway and Broadway scale, as "Godspell" comes to town – bringing an enlightening and entertaining collection of parables and other touching items to the stage. This classic musical is sure to amuse, as well as inspire you with features involving the Gospel According to St. Matthew and the Last Supper. • 4/11: PJs, Popcorn and a Movie (6pm-8pm): The Community Recreation Center transforms into an exciting movie theater, where guests are encouraged to come in their favorite pajamas to enjoy a film with loads of popcorn. Contact: 951-694-6464.

• 4/12: Carnival Fun Day (10am-1pm): Prizes and food create a great family outing to enjoy at the Temecula Community Center (28816 Pujol Street). Contact: 951-694-6464.

• 4/12 – 4/13: All Women are Like That (Cosi fan tutte): This English performance explores the love of two men for two women that is sure to bring a few laughs. Head for the Old Town Temecula Community Theater on Saturday at 7:30pm or Sunday at 2pm. Tickets: Orchestra ($25); Parterre ($20); Balcony ($15). Seniors and students receive a discount with ID. • 4/20: Sinatra Sings Again – featuring Vic Leon (2pm): With the sounds of Big Band filling the air, the greatest hits of Sinatra come to life at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater. It would be such a shame to miss the opportunity to relive "Luck Be a Lady Tonight" and "My Way." Tickets range between $30 and $36.

• 4/27: Shake Rattle and Roll (2pm - 4pm):The Oldies but Goodies are back again! This showband perform hits like Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison and more...there's a lot of joking around and jiving going on onstage so bring kids and grandparents to this family fun show! Wine Country Events
The April Temecula events offered at the wineries begins with the start of Bonfire Saturday Nights at the Longshadow Ranch Winery (39847 Calle Contento). This extravaganza includes live music, BBQ food, and horse-led carriage rides. After 4:30pm, wine served by the glass or bottle keeps adults entertained, as the kids can retire to the barn for movies at 6:45pm. The best part – the event is free – lasting between 5pm and 9:30pm. • 4/12: Wine and Food Pairing at South Coast Winery: Enjoy a luxurious outing surrounded by delicious blends of wine and just the right edible accompaniments. The cost to enjoy this event is $60 per person. Club members receive a $5 discount. Contact: 951-587-9463 (ext.7210) or www.wineresort.com.

• 4/19: Wine Blending Party – Oak Mountain Winery: It is here that winemakers share their secrets, as you discover the pleasure of blending your own creation of Meritage with the guidance of an expert. Chips, homemade salsa, and Apple Smoked Pork Tenderloin will join this unforgettable experience. I suggest taking home a bottle of your special blend, which only costs $15. • 4/26 – 4/27: Passport to Southwest California Wineries (11am –5pm): It is a must to RSVP for this event if you care to enjoy an all-access pass to the wonder of Temecula wineries. This two-day event only costs $45.


• 4/27: Wine 101 at Ponte Winery – 35053 Rancho California Road (4pm): Looking for a first-hand education in wine? This is an excellent food and wine pairing event that offers the expertise of Master Sommelier Eddie Osterland. This is also a perfect time to sample innovative hors d'oeurves. You can get your tickets at www.pontewinery.com or call 800-768-2203 for more information. Fee: $89 per person.

Holiday Events & Festivals

When looking for April Temecula events to enjoy during the Easter holiday, you may want to look towards the Falkner Winery Pinnacle Restaurant on April 8th, where their Easter brunch will make your head spin with tantalizing selections, such as cinnamon-spiced French toast and Apple Stuffed Crepes.

However, if you don’t make a reservation by calling at 951-676-8231 (ext. 104), then you'll surely miss out. The cost for this event is $54.95 per person plus tax. Children (ages 6-12) pay $27.50 and Wine Club members pay $49.95 – not including tax.

Other holiday cheer and festival fun for April Temecula events include:

• 4/8: Fountain Terrace Easter Buffet (12pm –5pm): The Cafι Champagne provides the Pineapple Glazed Ham and Mediterranean Grilled Lamb for an Easter buffet out of this world. Reservations are a must and are made by calling 951-699-0099 or visiting www.thorntonwine.com. Fee: $49.95 per person (plus tax and gratuity); children 12 and under ($19.95).

• 4/20: Fallbrook Avocado Festival (10am – 4pm): Downtown Fallbrook opens up to present a colorful wave of crafts, art, clothing, jewelry, and fresh produce, where the sounds of live entertainment create a well-rounded outing that is fun for the entire family. Additional treats include beer gardens and a range of local food vendors. Contact: 760-728-5845

Special April Temecula Events

Perhaps you have a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion to celebrate. The April Temecula events held at the Pechanga Casino provide great entertainment outlets. This month you could enjoy:

• the rip-roaring impersonations of Frank Caliendo (4/18; 7pm and 9:30pm)
