Old Town Events
During the holiday season, the Christmas spirit blankets the region with joy, peace, and spirited entertainment.
When planning to explore some of the December Temecula Events consider the following suggestions that offer singing, dancing, music, ballet, and jazz:
11/30 12/9: A Christmas Carol: Head for the Old Town Temecula Community Theater to enjoy this memorable performance by the Temecula Valley Players. Singers, dancers, and a 15-piece live orchestra are sure to enhance your holiday spirit. General Admission Tickets: $20
12/6: Sherry Williams hosts Jazz at the Merc: Featuring Carl Rigoli & John Rodby: The Mercantile, an intimate performance venue located at 42051 Main Street, offers the arts underneath the roof of one of the first buildings in Temecula. Let the jazz enter your soul, as you admire the beautifully restored surroundings. For excellent 'straight ahead jazz', remember every Thursday at 7:30pm Tickets: $15.

12/8: Christmas in the Air Saturday, December 8 at 7:30pm : Dont miss out on the 8th Annual Winter Concert with an explosion of familiar traditional carols and classical treasures that shine for the holidays. Thanks to the Southwest Womens Chorus, you will get the chance to follow along with a collection that includes folk songs and Broadway hits. If you missed the first performance, I recommend catching the second act on Sunday, December 16 at 2:00pm. Tickets: $16 Adults ($16); Seniors/Students/Military ($12); and Children ($8).
12/14 12/23: The Nutcracker: The Temecula Valley Civic Youth Ballet Company will deliver the infamous fairy tale that presents the world of the Nutcracker and the King of Mice with stunning choreographer. Tickets: Orchestra Front ($18); Orchestra ($27); Parterre ($25); and Balcony ($18).

Wine Country December Temecula Events
While a
winery
seems like an unlikely place to share a Christmas dinner or dine by candlelight, I strongly urge that you don't underestimate the power of a couple of glasses of fine wine, festive sounds, and exquisitely prepared feasts. There is no doubt that this December Temecula event in the wine country swells with excitement and unique adventures during the holidays. A few of these December Temecula Events to consider include:
12/15: Callaway's Holiday Candlelight Dinner: The Callaway Barrel Room is set aglow with a romantic candlelight scene that follows a tasty wine and cheese reception. The sounds of carolers entertain, where you are later escorted to an unforgettable four-course dinner with Callaway wine. This December Temecula event begins at 6pm at 32720 Rancho California Road with a fee of $100 per person.
12/25: Christmas Dinner at South Coast Winery Resort & Spa: When you'd like a break from the hustle and bustle of cooking Christmas dinner, consider the delight of a resort and spa getaway at the South Coast Winery, where the Vineyard Rose Restaurant dazzles with mesmerizing dιcor. Also, remember to take note of Dec 6 through the New Year when the South Coast Winery have a stunning animated mile long display of Christmas lights orchestrated to music! Take a holiday tractor-pulled ride through the vineyards and listen to Christmas caroling while shopping and wine tasting. This is a really wonderful December Temecula Event. Just $10 per person/children 4 and under are free. A New Year's Eve event is also planned for the winery (34843 Rancho California Road).
12/31: Hollywood Nights: How about New Year's Eve with Tinseltown flair? The Thornton Winery (32575 Rancho California Road) rolls out the red carpet and makes you feel like a star, as you enjoy the last ticks of 2007. Cost: $175 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Holiday Events and Festivals
Last but certainly not least we will move onto the festivals and holiday events in Temecula that residents love to indulge in. Just ask anyone whose planning on entering the Holiday Lights & Festive Sights Home Decorating Contest (presented by the City of Temecula Community Services Department), which takes place between December 9th and 16th. Remember that the entry deadline is December 3rd and costs absolutely nothing to join in the fun.
Other ways to get into the holiday spirit regarding December Temecula events include:
12/1 12/22: Dickens Christmas Festival in Old Town: A whirlwind of choirs with bells in hand, carolers, and dancing children creates the perfect atmosphere to enjoy sleigh rides, take pleasure in Community Music Day, and take a snapshot with Santa for five dollars.
12/7: Community Creche Festival - Nativity Exhibit: This unique display of nativity scenes highlights views from all over the world. Musical performances with a Christmas theme entertain guests with tunes and light refreshments.
12/8: Breakfast with Santa: You dont have to be a kid to enjoy breakfast with Mr. Jolly himself, as many parents flock to this ticketed event (8am- 11am), which costs $5 per person. How can you resist the scrambled eggs, bacon, orange juice, biscuits, and sausage with live holiday entertainment setting the mood? Call (951) 694-6410 to reserve your space.
12/31: Flashback to the 80s New Years Eve Celebration: Head to Wiens Family Cellars to experience great food, tantalizing wine, and toe-tapping entertainment. Prime rib, king crab legs, and succulent desserts await. High-energy tunes will fill the barrel room, as you step into Club Vine. Reserving your tickets ($160) ahead of time is a must.
