I've had the pleasure of sitting back in a
luxurious limousine
while enjoying a wine tasting extravaganza in Temecula, California (which I recommend you try at least once), however, there is nothing that compares to taking off on the open road to tackle the wine trails that become quite familiar with the help of a map on a self-guided wine tour.
With our reliable map to the Temecula wineries in hand, the cool breezes of the early morning were an uplifting greeting, as we ventured off to the coziness of breathtaking wineries that we never even knew existed.
While you won't get spoiled like you would on a limousine tour - the varied experience of discovering the Temecula Wine Country using a map to the Temecula wineries to guide yourself is still a real treat.
The natural wonder of the scenery was refreshing, as inviting wild flowers dotted our surroundings with an occasional viewing of the wild life in the area.
While we agreed to investigate the wineries to see what was available for a tasty lunch, we vowed to return - just to take advantage of the gorgeous picnic spots we came across.
We were not disappointed with the beautifully prepared meals awaiting our arrival at the
Temecula winery restaurants.
As we ate our meals, the tender rays of the sun only elevated our overall encounter. The blend of delicious cuisine, friendly service, and inspiring atmosphere created the perfect dining experience that became gently etched in my mind.
Our time was not wasted, as we managed to travel every inch of the Temecula Wine Country - driving down almost every road - including the smallest of back road winery nooks and crannies. Without a map to the Temecula wineries, we probably would have missed out on an assortment of fascinating features of the region.
We saw a lot of stunning Temecula horse properties along the wine trails and this lovely girl absolutely enjoyed having her photo taken ... here she is proudly sitting atop her horse.

Every now and again, the start of the day brings a light mist, but I am almost always positive that the sun will penetrate the mist and deliver clear skies. How appropriate...since the very meaning of Temecula (pronounced 'ta-meck-you-la') translates into 'where the sun shines through the mist.' This Native American interpretation couldn't sing any truer. Interestingly enough, Temecula is one of the few remaining towns in California still identified by its Native American name.
As we explored the local wineries (complete with interesting tales), there was no mist casting clouds over our adventures. The weather and atmosphere was great, as we dug deep to encounter the intriguing stories of the region. The owners and staff are more than happy to share the shining accounts of how their winery blossomed to become its own individual gem.
Later on - we did eventually make our way back to one of the wineries for that relaxing picnic lunch I promised myself. The views were awe-inspiring, as we laid back relaxing without a care in the world. A mesmerizing setting ahead granted us sights beyond imagination, as the countryside came alive before our very eyes. You just can't get any better than that!
Overall, the award-winning wineries about the vineyard are absolute paradise. We possess our fair share of tasting some of the best wines and have had the pleasure of chatting it up with professionals in the wine industry. We can't boast being wine Connoisseurs - but we've built a pretty decent library of wine knowledge from all of our escapades in the Wine Country.
With a map to the Temecula wineries in hand - our trips to the vineyards became much clearer and easy to navigate.
