Perks: poetry, music and art

Perk's coffee shop is bringing an eastcoast, New York art & cultural scene to Temecula in their small little shop that serves many different coffees, smoothies, chillers, my favorite is the "Soy Sweet" smoothie.

I recently did on Friday, Feb 1 at 6:30 p.m. a poetry reading there. It is a grassroots moment for this place putting on these kind of events. Every week we are going to try to have poetry readings every Thursday or Friday, to be determined. Every second Saturday of the month there is a new fine artist's reception and show. Meet the artist, view his or her work, buy a piece if you love it absolutely and must have it. I went to See Jackie Geary there on Saturday, Feb 9 at 5 p.m. She paints abstract stuff that is totally innovative and well done, well thought out and refreshing to look at.

I want a place like this to succeed in this venture where I can make friends with the same interests as me all the while exposing Temecula to new art and make a scene possible for artists of all mediums to gather. I'm starting a writing group as well. All are welcome. 26423 Ynez Road, Temecula
