To learn more about a region, I think local festivals and events are rather telling. The
festival events
in Temecula are pretty well rounded when it comes to delivering entertainment with a touch of enlightening culture.
About town, expect to enjoy the foot-stomping rhythms of the Old Town Temecula Bluegrass Festival (March). In June, why not soar into the air to kiss the clouds while enjoying the ultra-popular Temecula Wine and Balloon Festival?
In July, the Temecula Valley International Jazz Festival offers free entry to outdoor events that appeals to visitors of all ages. Every September, get ready for the lights, camera, and action of the Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival, which is nearing 15 years in existence. A collection of directors, musicians, filmmakers, composers, cast, and crew gather to enjoy the Temecula events associated with this yearly festival.
Explore the Wild West
Not only can you experience Western shoot-out reenactments in Old Town
Temecula, but you may also listen to Choctaw storytelling and view the colorful, moving presentation of Native American dancing (Eagle Dance, Hoop Dance, ceremonial Grass Dance).
At Western Days, residents and visitors are treated to a High Noon Bank Robbery Shootout, cattle roping classes, pony rides, stagecoach excursions, Wild West skits, and gunfight competitions.
Head for the corner of Front and Main Street to experience this fun-for-the-whole-family event thanks to the Old Temecula Gunfighters.
Popular Old Town Events
The Old Town Temecula events and performing arts are very much alive throughout the year and if you dont act fast in getting tickets to popular events you'll be quite sorry.
Open up the Pandora's box of events held at Old Town Temecula Theater and encounter the Temecula Valley Players, who deliver "A Christmas Carol" in December, as well as "The Living Last Supper, " and "Steel Magnolias. " Old Town Temecula events also include "Jazz at the Merc" every Thursday at 7:30pm at the Mercantile (42051 Main Street) and Old Town favorites like the California Chamber String Quintet and the Temecula Valley Civic Youth Ballet Co known for putting on an impressive Nutcracker production.
Every Saturday morning, Old Town blossoms with the ever popular
Farmers Marketplace
a free event where local merchants, artisans, and food vendors create a warm and welcome atmosphere about town.
Head for the North end of Old Town Temecula (28464 Front Street) on 6th and Front Streets to take advantage of farm fresh produce, and friendly conversation from 8am to 12:30pm.
This marketplace is certified meaning the produce is grown locally and meet quality state standards.
Pechanga Resort & Casino Events
When looking for some of the best entertainment in Southern California, it never fails that the Temecula events at the Pechanga Resort & Casino are well known. Seating 1,200 guests, the Pechanga Theatre provides the perfect venue for headliners and concerts throughout the year. Broadway sets fire to the stage, sharp-tongue comedians induce laughter, and touring musicians play their signature tunes to sold-out crowds.
The casino is a never-ending watering hole for residents and visitors who wish to catch live championship boxing at the Grand Ballroom or the weekend hits of hip-hop, techno and trance raising the roof at the onsite Silk the Club a popular disco with DJ-inspired music. The Pechanga Resort & Casino accommodates the likes of Tom Jones, Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance, Aretha Franklin, and the Oak Ridge Boys.
Winery Events
With an assortment of lovely wineries in the region, it is no surprise that 'spirited' Temecula events are a weekly occasion. Depending on the vineyard of your choosing, you will find satisfying affairs to consider, including live entertainment, fresh food, flamenco, and wine classes. A few that I recommend include:
Keyways Vineyard & Winery: Sunday afternoons open up for "Music in the Vines" four hours of complimentary sounds that accompany delicious wine. Sometimes a little country other times a bit jazzy
Live Entertainment at Ponte Winery: Friday nights at the Smokehouse Cafe pairs tasty meals with a seductive glass of wine. Dont forget the reservations!
Falkner Winery: Sunday afternoon jazz performances are free from 12:30pm to 3pm. Every Wednesday night consider a Sunset Dinner at the onsite Pinnacle Restaurant transporting you to a magical hilltop location. Price: $65 per person ($85 with wine)
Temecula Trolley Hot Spot Cruise: Have you ever enjoyed a wine tour by way of trolley? Here's your chance from Thursday to Saturday (7pm). Price: $25
Flamenco Fridays at Miramonte Winery: For a mere $6-$8 cover, enjoy wine tasting, dinner, hot music, and the fancy footwork and flavorful music of rhumba, flamenco, and Latin jazz.
Overall, there are too many Temecula events to list regarding this glorious region. I simply cannot devote just one page to mention them all.
If you have an event you would like to advertise, let us know about it. You can add a color photo right here if you wish.
If you have been to an event in Temecula and would like to share you wonderful experience, I would love to hear about it and Im sure others who visit this site will thank you!
