Western Days in Temecula Old Town … you would swear that you had stepped back in time as staged gunfights and bank robberies with cowboys dressed in period clothing shoot it out with blank bullets using real guns.
You will also find women dressed in beautiful dresses from days gone by, with frilly umbrellas and period jewelry serving refreshments at a hospitality tent… don’t miss out on this event which is usually held in May of each year, it’s a great family event and the kids can’t get enough of it!

Just to name a few – there is the Welty Building, which has seen its fair share of prize fights back in its day, while the First National Bank of Temecula managed to sustain only one robbery in its lifetime (the premises were eventually replaced by a Mexican eatery.) When younger visitors require stimulation, the Imagination Workshop Children's Museum offers an interactive wonderland centered on the allure of science. Once kids have had a chance to stretch their legs, perhaps their parents can explore some of the shops in Old Town.
Shopping is a popular pastime in Temecula and more likely than not you will come across an item that simply calls out your name. Specialty boutiques scattered about the city provide unique souvenirs, while the Promenade Mall offers some of the latest fashions with large department store wheeling and dealing.

Scan the shelves of the Temecula House of Wine and you have the perfect combination for an indulgent snack break.
If your looking for a quick snack then step into Evelyn Honea's Temecula House of Jerky (28657 Old Town Front St) where you will find an array of the most delicious beef jerkey in the town.
Now, if you have a bit of a sweet tooth - drop in to

are sure to please the hungry visitor or local. In addition, I have to mention the delicious eats scattered about Temecula Old Town, as nearly every experience is one never to forget.
If you love barbecue – I suggest you head for Sweet Lumpy's - peanuts and all, or consider rustling up a seat at Texas Lil's Mesquite Broiler (where I've heard the biggest steaks in town are served). For a good hearty breakfast check out the historic Swing In Cafe (Originally Mother's Cafe 1927.)
An excellent spot for drinks and an delicious evening meal is Penfolds Cattle Company, top class food and service (Don't mix it up with the Penfolds Cafe).
Cocktails at the Front Street Bar & Grill fuel more than just spirited conversation, but I'll let you find out for yourself. Mexican food comes alive at Rosa's Cantina with Fish Tacos and Quesadillas Especial, where tropical delights dance about the dishes at the
Arriba Grill
– a Caribbean fantasy.
