Temecula Theater A Never-Ending Lineup of Music and Theater
With the Temecula Theater, you never know what to expect from excellent theater performances, Elvis impersonators, religious renditions to the debuts of young talent.
It is here that a touch of Broadway brings shows to life, where unforgettable presentations touch the mind and heart, such as Jesus Christ Superstar the infamous rock opera. Big names in the world of theater and music take to this Old Town gem including the likes of the Harlem Quartet, California Chamber Orchestra, jazz greats, and even masters of the ukulele.
Brief History
Established in 2005, the new addition to the Temecula Theater seats close to 360 guests, providing contemporary surroundings with the appeal of a historical landmark at the entry the Mercantile Building (which dates back to the 1890's).
Situated in the center of
Old Town
Temecula, the theater offers access to an orchestra pit, balcony and box seats, dance studio, gorgeous courtyard, dressing rooms, rehearsal rooms, and scene shop all of which joins a 80' x 35' stage.
When enjoying a performance, high-tech digital lighting and sound systems enhance the outcome of every production.
With the help of the Theater Foundation and a multitude of private donors, the performing arts and other entertaining outlets are alive and well through the theater and Mercantile Building.
The venue has since opened its doors to a variety of community productions, including youth theater, dance recitals, and a visual arts gallery.
This inviting space is also rented by regional organizations for special events and also serves as a venue for local festival activities.
Mercantile Events
One of the original buildings of Temecula (the Mercantile also known as "the Merc") is located at 42051 Main Street and entices guests with a variety of performances. Here, you may enjoy:
Jazz at the Merc Come take pleasure in a different jazz group on Thursdays, where tickets are only $15.
Hosting this popular event of the Temecula Theater is Sherry Williams an incredible jazz singer who is known to promote the genre all about town.
The jazz program held at the Merc is not the only gig that Sherry holds, as she also belts out beautiful vocals at the upscale bar located at Frankies Steak and Seafood Restaurant in Temecula, as well as performing at other local venues.
Live at the Merc On Fridays, the Mercantile is also home to "Live at the Merc" the perfect opportunity to enjoy exclusive performances of the best bands in the region all delivered within an intimate setting. Doors typically open at 7:30pm with an 8:00pm start. Tickets cost $15.
